Just got an robocall from ‘amazon’ on (03) 9561 4559 – which actually appears to be a telephone number assigned to a residence in Wheeler’s Hill. Most likely it’s been ‘spoofed’ by scammers operating from offshore.

In the automated message, it says that $39.90 will be deducted from ‘your bank account’ for your ongoing amazon prime subscription, press 1 to speak with an agent if this is incorrect…

Most likely they are just using this to fish for vulnerable phone numbers -those that press 1 would probably be put on a list of easy targets and get hit up with more scam calls.
