Caller: “Alex”

Told me that there was an overseas payment from my credit card, that Nab had suspected was fraudulent. Asking me to confirm whether I had authorised it. Was very convincing, and had a lot of info about me and my accounts. I was on the line for ages with him supposedly blocking the transaction plus others coming in from OS. I became anxious, and phoned my local branch who advised me that it was definitely a scammer. Fortunately there does not seem to have been any issues, but I will be very very wary now.

Caller in scam with (02) 8299 9000 purporting to be CUSCAL on behalf of NAB re dogey card transaction, also in another state. Very persistent. Total scam. Not NAB. Beware.

Caller: Marc Jacobs, NAB

Called to tell me my credit card had been used for a transaction in another state for a Rolex store. They wanted me to confirm whether I wanted to block the transaction, cancel the credit card and get it reissued. Stated my name, address and the first and last 4 digits of the card in an attempt to verify that they were representing the NAB security team. They asked me whether I had received phishing texts or emails that may have compromised the account. Then said they had issues with cancelling the card and wanted to confirm details, they hung up on me when I called out the scam.

Called and told me that someone has tried to use my bsb and account number to purchase a gym membership in a different state - didn’t really listen to his whole spiel - thought it was dodgy. I called the real NAB and they told me it was a scam
