Caller: Westpac OBVIOUS SCAM CALLER!!!! Called and said they were from Westpac credit card department and said they were checking possible fraudulent transactions made to international companies. Mentioned 2 x transactions occurring in Singapore, one for an airline and another for air bnb accomodation, and wanted to check that they were mine. I joked around and said I would like to go to Singapore but I don't have enough credit available because my card is maxed-out, and then said they weren't my transactions. They wanted to know if I had my physical and with me and said they would have to go ahead and cancel my card and reorder a new one which would arrive in about 5-7 days time. They then asked to confirm my details starting with my date of birth. This is when I said that if they were about to cancel my card, they would already have my details in front of them and already know my date of birth....not surprisingly, they hung up....Westpac Bank would never call you in such a manner, so don't fall for this scam...
