Caller: Female with Indian accent.

Claimed to offer government rebate deal on heat pump hot water. I asked where she was calling me from and she said Melbourne, but then hung up when I asked the address in Melbourne. The call was clearly being made from outside Australia

Caller: Electric Heat Pump Government Rebate for $1900 to change from Gas.

A gentleman tried to tell me that my gas hot water service will be cut off by the Government in 2026 and that I have a limited opportunity to upgrade to a heat pump system. I asked for the Government document that stated that my gas hot water service will be cut off and he told me it was from a report, that was based in Sydney and Bendigo. I asked again for the Government website or document that stated that my gas system will be shut off and he kept referring to a report. Finally, he said it was an “assumption” that existing properties will have their gas cut. “We will see” he said before hanging up on me.
