Said they were from eBay, apparently confirming my “purchase”. I hung up and blocked them. Had the identical call from another number yesterday.

Caller: Scam

Left a robo voicemail in claiming to be from Visa and Mastercard department and that I have a payment request for $1399. Prompting me to report fraud.

Caller: Scammer

She claimed to be “Molly” from Telstra NBN. Wanted me to do a speed test so that the Telstra engineers could then access my devices to “make the speed better”!

Caller: 'Optus'

Claimed they were from Optus and they were offering a 40% discount on my contract because I've been a loyal customer. To verify my details she needed to send me a code to my mobile number and I needed to relay that number to her. I figured that was weird and why not just apply the discount? She had "technical" issues too so that was another red flag. After she asked for my email address that sent more red flags, I said it's taking too long and I'll do it in store. She politely ended the conversation. Convincing though and I'm sure others have fallen for this.

Tip: always set up 2 step verification and back up options in case they get through the first layer.

I never answer any unknown calls.

Scam call...DO NOT ANSWER THEM

Caller: (03) 9123 1027

Said they were from the Visa Department and wanted to query two payments I'd made - one to ebay and the other a foreign transfer. Then asked me to press 1 to discuss if it wasnt me that authorised the payments. Nope! I simply hung up. That's two calls in 15 minutes with identical information.

14:49 27/07/2023 Melbourne. Answered after 5 rings, caller hung up

"Payment request for $1,099 for online shopping . . . .

Said he was from Telstra wanting to fix internet problem and my connection is hacked… I hung up

as soon as i answered the caller hung up same as a call from (03) 7018 0621 10 minutes prior

Caller: John from "TELSTRA"

John from Telstra, overseas call centre heard it click after a few seconds pause, obviously overseas accent, introduced hinself as John from Telstra, calling about my Internet problems. I don't have Internet and I don't have any accounts with Trlstra. Hung up when I told him he was a scammer

Caller: said from CBA

They said they where from CBA about a transaction on my credit card. Rami is a scammer

Said ther were from Amazon and I had participaed in free trial of Amazon Prime and they would now charge me. I had not done this.. I ended call
