Started the phone call by straight away offering cheaper electricity. Wouldn't say who they worked for. They could provide me with my address which is kind of scary cos it honestly sounded like a scammer calling. It could possibly be an "energy comparison" company but I personally have doubts about that. after a few minutes of her reflecting almost every question I asked she sent me on to a "senior" so I guess her manager or something. he then basically tried to start the same script to which I asked him the same questions he was happy to identify who he was however he couldn't tell me what my energy provider was and said he works for other 30 energy companies(of which he only said like 3). Personally that sounds allitle sussy bakka to me like its a bait and switch provide cheaper prices and then after some times the price will go up and you'll end up paying more in the end.

My second call in 10 days from 'Alex' from Compare Energy Market in Collins St, Melbourne. He can tell me my postcode. Each time he asked if I have a pensioner concession and tried to find out my age today.
He told me that he can save me lots of money with First Energy. When I have gone into costing with him it turns out that my peak usage charge (with Origin) is almost 2c/kWh cheaper than he says he's offering .. plus I'm on a plan which gives me a 25% discount off the reference price.
When I told him that I wouldn't be any better off changing to his preferred provider he said he couldn't offer me a better plan because my phone numbers are on the Do Not Call register! He was very insistent that he could help me get off the DNC register. When I said I was not doing that he got off the phone and asked me to remember his name!
He's a very pushy Asian and there's certainly something fishy about his calls.
I omitted to mention that he was ready to put me on to his superior to finalise things before he brought up the DNC business.
I can do without being hassled by scammers which I am reasonably sure he is.
