I too was receiving missed calls from this number. I rang it back and got a recorded message explaining that they are a Call Centre called AEGIS who make outbound calls on behalf of many different clients.
There is a website you can go to "callquery.com.au" where you enter your first and last name, and selct from 3 options being -call type (presumably to find out who was calling and why)
remove my number- (presumably to remove your number from the AEGIS database?)
and other - there is then a box to provide comments.
I ticked 'remove my number' and haven't been called again from this number soooo.... Might be 'legit' as such.

I have had many missed calls from this number too, every second day they call. I have also tried calling back and no joy getting to speak to anyone. Very annoying! It has been going on for months now.

Caller stated he was from Ambulance Vic and that our account was overdue, 3 secs later "Oh I'm sorry it has been paid" then asked for personal details? IE our surname and given names, I told him if he had our account he would know those details and hang up.

I got a call from my travel agency in the US on this number for a legitimate reason for my booking. Appears to be an international rerouting number for call centres which are located outside their countries of operation (e.g., India, Philippines, etc)

SCAM ALERT! Called my workplace. Told me my Ambulance subscription had lapsed and proceeded to try to ask for personal details to identify me so that he could then take my credit card details. Told him I was uncomfortable with this and would call back myself. He provided me with a number which was actually the correct Ambulance Vic number (I googled it first obviously) but when I called them they said my subscription was up to date. Clearly trying to get people to hand over credit card details.

If Ambulance Victoria, then you are an assh.. calling mobil phone is dangerous for just to collect money. Should just send text message to a mobile number.
Use your brain !
