Caller type: Scam call
Location: Australia
Caller: Telstra Scammer

Yet another Telstra scammer who has spoofed this phone number.
He called about errors and warning messages form my computer. He hung up when I told him I was not with Telstra.

They try to identify what computer OS you use by finding out the key next to the left ctrl key. This lets them customise their spiel so that they can the remote hack your computer.

If they ring you tell them there is a large A next to the ctrl key.
If they ask if it is a Windows or Mac say no, it is an amiga X5000 computer running AmigaOS 4.1 (aka as Workbench).

Of course this also means their pre-prepared Mac/Windows speech is now worthless.

If they want you to download any software so that they can access your computer just tell them it will not run on an amiga OS. This will piss them off.

They may try to get money or personal info out of you though.
Remember:
1) do not let them access your computer.
2) do not let them trick you into paying them by credit card, debit card, itunes card, Steam card, or western union money transfer.
3) lie to them about who you are, where you are and what you do.

Try to keep them on line as long as possible. It prevents them from scamming others while they talk to you and it is fun making them jump through hoops for your amusement.
