Scam about taxes asking personal details.

prank call, asking for send money overseas

I just received the same call, claiming they are from the ATO.  Apparently my phone number and name was randomly selected and I won $7000.  All I had to do was call this number and quote the grant application number. He called himself Zack Williams. Callers sound of Asian decent and have a few people making the same call I could hear them in the background.

same here. jenny from ATO contacted. the federal govt will give me 7000 if i donate 200 to unisex. i said if i cpuld have 7000 first and donate 700 or 1000. but haha no i have to donate first.

Just received a call saying if i give a donation $200 to an asian group that Julia Gillard will give $7000 as I am a low income earner. Big scam.

Told me that i won $7000 and i have to donate $250 in india to the following namebalbir paneir who live in dheli.

Well this will be interesting. I just had the call  wow Julia you are so kind hahahahahahaha. as if you would want to give me $7000. Well I think the ATO that I just spoke to will be contacting you very soon. and will be very interested in this offer. Thanks to Mr Chris Brown from the ATO what a plonker. As if you sounded like a Chris brown.

I just got the same phone call and when I called back the guy claimed to be calling from ATO.

Apparently it is a common scam going around!
