Got calls from "Anthony" (Asian) at 'Windows Service centre' wanting to help with errors in my computer. Played along and went to computer management pages. Knowing these are often scammers, I asked him for a legit ref number, business name, email etc, he gave me this number & said he would 'hold'. I rang & spoke to 'Kevin' (also Asian)who did not know Anthony ....

Rude scam

Just had a call from a man who called himself 'David' to tell me I had malware on my computer. When asked he advised he was working at Level 5, 23 King Street, Melbourne. He was cagey about the name of the company he worked for, but very insistant that that I had malware on my computer. When I asked him how he knew this, he said that his company provided technical support for all windows computers. Very insistant, and a bit rude at my apparent lack of understanding of the issues. Had a similar call from a female yesterday.

The first thing a scam company does when they see bad reports about themselves on these forums is generate bogus recommendations from 'customers' with a western-sounding names. Most people can deduct through your poor use of the English language that you are lying and are the perpetuators of the scam itself. People are getting wise to this trick.

Got a phone call from this number.  Man on other end said his name was Anthony and that he was a Microsoft Windows technician.  He wanted me to turn on my computer so he could show me what was wrong with it.  I asked him to give me his phone number so I could check him out first.  I have no intention of calling him back, and am 99% sure it is a scam.
