Scam , automated caller that says "to avoid legal arrest call my Department immediately". Heard of these before, some sort of Tax scam to scare people into paying up. Number blocked!

Automated voice says legal action is proceeding against me from tax office. My accountant checked with ATO and there is no issues . SCAM !!

Recorded female voice with a foreign accent claiming to be from the Australian Tax Office and saying that I have an outstanding case against me and that I need to call them back to avoid being arrested.

Tax scam block the number

I called this number after missing a call. They claim to be the investigation division of the Australian taxation dept. all Indian, first one couldn’t even understand me so hung up on me.

An Asain woman wanted to confirm my address details, said that the ATO had made a miscalculation on my tax returns after doing a random audit and wanted to know whether I had a lawyer available to continue with the proceedings. Upon asking why I would need a lawyer or why the ATO would be calling me in this manner from a Melbourne number they promptly hung up.

This is a scam. Automated voice telling me a had a case against me and to avoid arrest I had to call them. How stupid do you think I am????
