I've had one or two calls a week from that number for several months now.

Every time, as soon as I answer they hang up without having said a word. Funny way of going about fund-raising, I would say.

But yes, when you call back that number you get a recorded message saying that as a not-for-profit fund-raising outfit they are exempt from the do-not-call register.

Sounds like a load of codswallop to me. How do they hope to raise funds if they hang up as soon as you answer their calls, eh?

More likely, a bunch of crooks checking if there's anyone home and the way is clear for a burglary.

They have called me a few time and always fail to leave a message. Thanks to your comments, I won't be answering any time soon.

This number called me and hung up when i answered. Then when i called them back it went to message bank and said it was a not for profit number which was exempt from the do not call register. I

I got a call from that number today 29 July 2011 at 2:09 pm. They hung up as soon as I answered. I called back, got a recorded message asking me to leave my name and number.A charity, uh? More like a scam disguising itself as a charity, a network of burglars checking if there is anyone home.

I called them because I was curious! Its a not for pofit fundraising company. Apparently they are exempt from the do not call register.

Just received missed call from this number too. No message left.  From the above posts, I am guessing it was Scope.
