You can report them here:http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/There is a number that you can call toll free from both the USA and Canada.I spoke to 'Tom' who was very aggressive in claiming that the 'internal transport layer' software provided as part of Windows was expiring. I told hime that I thought it was a scam, and as soon as I said scam, he hung up rather than try to provide evidence that his company was legitimate.

The call as it came in claimed to be from Microsoft because 'my system had sent them error messages saying I was infected with some Malaysian Malware'. After much questioning the caller provided me with my computer product key as 'proof' that he was on the level. While still suspicious I typed in a command given only for AVG to catagorically block the result. At this point I refused to go further without the caller providing his name, {Steven Games}, his work ID {MCFT0863} and where he was calling from {Calafornia 0805 508 5237}. If I rang back I was to ring 0390 1598 57! I note that caller appeared to be a salesman rather than a techo. I hung up and would advise everybody else to do the same.

Microsoft does not employ third party companies to cold call their customers offering technical support. This may just be an attempt to get commision from legitimate software sales sites, but the fact that they 'need' remote access to your PC makes it more likely that they are charging you for the installation of software that will steal your personal information when you do online banking.I know someone who gave this company access, but quickly disconnected their PC once they saw what was being done. In that short time they had disabled most of the functionality of the antivirus software. No Thank You MICRO A** YST CORPORATION :P

Called about a week ago and claimed that my computer had some expired software that meant i could no longer use SSL certificates with sites like internet banking. Without much technical knowledge its hard to understand whether this is true or not, but since the company microassyst has basically no google search listings, and they claimed ALL computers lose their ability to make SSL connections to secure sites (if so then everyone would know about this etc), plus their site is just plain dodgy - so its probably better to hang up the phone. THey also claim they are partners of microsoft, but no evidence is provided. They make all sorts of other claims and throw jargon at you which sort of blinds you from the fact that they are not providing evidence for anything they are telling you. They try to enable remote assistance which allows them to chat to you on the computer, but they could potentially view and implant files on your computer since file sharing gets enabled in the process of accepting a remote assistance invitation.
*They have private caller ID, however this is the telephone on their website

Hi, My name is david pens. I recieved a call one afternoon from a guy called albert. He was telling me that my computer had some kind of internal software problem. I knew that my pc had a lots of problems but in order to verify who he was, i asked him some questions and he answered all my questions and i felt he was from a genuine organisation. He later on showed me all the problems and than asked me to renew the ssl because it had expired. I later on paid him $589.99 and than he provided me with a new ssl and then my pc started working absolutely fine... Thanx to that young lad... I think that company which was named microassyst is absolutely genuine....Thank you for being helpful microassyst company
