Received a call from this number which was a recorded message - a very English sounding lady said there was a warrant out for my arrest because of some tax fraud! This mob use other numbers, that all start with 03 9013 and the ATO has received many complaints last year ...they are scammers but I don't understand why Telstra or Optus haven't disconnected them yet. They can't be that desperate for money surely.

I just got a call from the same number. So dodgy. Claimed to be the tax office! I missed the call and rang back. Never had the tax office pick up so fast! Then he hung up on me! Do not answer (03) 9013 5499. Definitely a dodgy, sad individual with nothing better to do with their life... Pathetic.

SCAM. ATO impersonator tried to extort money

Recorded message. Told me about a tax fraud that I made and that I will be arrested blah blah blah. They claimed to be the Australian Taxation Office and that I need to call them back. Pretty confident if the ATO were trying to contact me over such matters that they would me direct. Didn't call back.

Stated arrears tax payable, threatened arrest. I checked with my accountant who stated it was a scam (confirmed no issues with my tax).
Recommend not returning call.

Its a tax scam do not answer this number! I just had the same call and let it go through my voicemail, it was a robotic message saying they will arrest me HAHAHAH if you have concerns you need to contact ATO
