Caller: ATO representative (apparently) This is a poorly devised scam by some Indian scammers claiming that you have defrauded the ATO and that you will be arrested by police. Rest assured the ATO never ask for a TFN. We have traced the number and location whilst on the phone to them which is a VOIP using Skype. Under no circumstances give any details to some one with out verification. Authorities will be visiting them.

Caller: Caller with an Indian accent I received a phone call yesterday and was unable to pickup. When I called back - he said this is ATO . I said I missed your call and returning back. He asked my name - I said if you are ATO and making call you should know my name and why are you asking? He immediately hung up. I am a local citizen of Indian heritage and believes in value of being honest. I feel ashamed by this corrupt psycho guys who are spoiling India's name. NEVER GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. NEVER RESPOND TO THESE GUYS AS THEY ARE ABUSING VOIP - THESE ARE SCAMMERS - GOVT CYBER AGENCY SHOULD REALLY CATCH THEM. IF THEY CHANGE NUMBER OR AGENCY NAME AND YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT THEN YOU SHOULD ASK THEM TO SEND YOU IN WRITING BY POST W/O GIVING ANY NAME & ADDRESS AND NEVER GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFO OVER THE PHONE.

Caller: ATO scam Claim they are ATO. As we are studying cyber security at present we were able to get their exact location as they are a little dumb to not hide the open ports , we also got onto to their desktops. Federal Officers have passed on the details of their whereabouts to the local police there. Ha ha!
