This person answered with “Hello this is the Australian Taxation Office how can I help you”. 100% scam.

Caller: They said Telstra

They were talking about IP and rang back but just a recorded message

Called and said they were from telstra. Called from number 0422 864 069. Saying telstra internet settings had been changed from private to public. I asked for number to call them back and was given (03) 9013 4191. Pushed caller for details such as how I was going to ID myself when I call telstra back if im not a telstra customer nor have ever been one. Kind of stumped him. He actually apologised for wasting my time and was kind of polite about it which was a change from other scammers. Definately a scammer though, couldnt tell me my account name, number, ip address etc. Which clearly my phone carrier would have.

i had this number called me yesterday. wanting to change things around.

Scam - lady advised Telstra ID TEL 5021. She said my IP address has changed from public to private and said she wanted to help me change it back. Asked for return number (03) 9013 4191. Reported to Telstra

I just had the same BS from James from "Telstra" and that I had a problem with the security settings on my NBN to my business. Given the number (03) 9013 4191 to call back on.
Total Scam.

Same problem as others here, this is scam call, trying to hack your computer and mobile. That's the number they gave me to call back

Caller: "Telstra Technician"

Call from a Telstra Technician, claiming my Telstra internet IP address has been made public and it needs to be fixed. Trying to scare me with consequences of being Public.

I hung up straight away as it's obviously a scam..... I'm not with Telstra :)

Caller: SCAM Caller claiming to be from Telstra

They called from (02) 9122 7452 claiming that there was an internet problem with my connection to the NBN and they got my number from the NBN account. They said I could call back on (03) 9013 4191. (Problem is, I don't have an NBN connection. When pushed they said I was wasting their time and they hung up.) It's a pity that these people continue to harass people looking for fraudulent gains. It would be nice if someone could shut them down.

A guy with same name James called , however he mentioned his Telstra ID as TL402. He said my IP has changed from public to private and said he wanted to help me change it back. Got the call from (02) 9374 6122.

Saying they're from Telstra.
Rang the cited number back, got a blast of Hindi, then when I asked who I was speaking to the voice turned very formal and said "This is Telstra Indian Technical Department".
Phishing for IP address by saying security settings have changed.

They called and said they were Telstra and that I had a problem with the security settings on my NBN. claimed to be Telstra representative but asked me questions about Internet banking so I asked for a number to call them back. This is the number they gave.
They actually called on (02) 4968 2980.
Guy said his name was James and his Telstra ID was TL 592
