Just had a call from them claiming they are Optus Business udzting data. They are not. They are fishimg for marketing info at the very least. Complained to Ombusmen who logged the call and advised complaining to OPTUS.

have had the same issue ringing my business mobile this is ridiculous our business phones are for business not stupid bs. Im not with optuus im with vodafone so why waste my time you idiots

Hey all, thinking the best way is to beat them at their own game - if they call constantly answer it if you have 5 mins spare - if you own a business sell to them or if not ask them about their position there and if they like working at the company just harass them back until they stop calling.

Getting the same. Write a letter to the Ombudsman and call them up to get yourself removed and tell them about it.

Pretty sure they get fined over $100 for a written complaint, less if it's over the phone. More if it keeps going. Imagine if everyone complained? They'd go broke.

I am getting so tired of these call. I get them every day between 1-2pm, sometimes 3 times!!
What can I do to stop them calling. I do not answer the call. It is just a nuisance.

Did some sleuthing - the company is OCIS, they have a contract with Optus to spam every business in the country and "update Optus's databases".

I called their head office below which promises to remove me from their database. We shall see!
Give them a call and tell them how much you hate their telemarketing practices, number below.

Claimed to be from Optus, not trying to sell anything they just want all our business details for their database. Told her to remove us from the database, she hung up on me.

it rings about 3x a week i kinda had a hunch it was bs so i just ignore it but yes i agree VERY ANNOYING im not even with optus im on THREE network THEY MUST of got the number out of the yellow pages either way they suck!

Optus marketing wanting to know all my details so that he could update his database. Said he didnt have my Optus information as he was on a different database! Told him how ridiculous that sounds - not to bother ringing me again & hung up

I wasn't happy with Telstra, so I switches to Optus a couple of years ago. They would be ok otherwise if they didn't bother me with these nuisance calls all the time. Perhaps there's a better service provider somewhere?

At least they don't call my landline number, thank god. On the mobile I can ignore it. Of course it wastes time having to stop working and find the phone and check the caller id, so it's still a nuisance and a time wasting call.

Like all of you, I too received a call from (03) 9009 6601 "OCIS" claiming to be representing Optus.
This came on my Telstra prepaid handset.
The lady with a very broad thick accent was determined to confirm my details for their database. I clearly explained that because she called me - she would have my information.
For every question asked of me I responded "Optus does not need that information".
In the end just before she hung up - she thanked my for my cooperation. (I noted a hint of sarcasm)
The company is called Oceania Customer Interaction Services.

You can call back the number and have your number removed from their database. (but unless you are local it is a long distance call - not economical on a prepaid sim).

I also called Optus to express my displeasure at receiving this type of call (and that it is a poor representation of Optus) and the Optus staff member was very apologetic about the whole ordeal. She also contacted OCIS to ensure my number was removed.

I also explained that my number is supposed to be on the DO NOT CALL register, which makes it even more irritating.

Hope this info provides some direction for you

Its so annoying that i said them NO for 3 times, but they still keep on calling me.

Why don't they stop? I don't think so that they are calling on behalf of Optus.....

Recieved a call today, claiming they are from optus and that they wanted to confirm account details. They couldn't tell me the account number they were calling with regards to.

The lady speaking (with a very thick accent) said she needed to confirm the business name, address, and email address. I told her that if she was genuinely calling from Optus, she should already have our details? She said that they needed to be "updated"

I told her that I would call Optus directly and hung up.

Upon speaking to Optus, they had no record of this call and advised not to disclose any details

they call me every week day, its very annoying. i am going to ring up my provider and have the number blocked.
I did recall it , but you cannot be removed unless you can dial the options on your mobile phone to have it deleted from their list

I love these calls, I just make stuff up! Normally give them details of my local Telstra store (because they made me wait 10mins to get a microsim):)
