Caller: Roger Gillard Scam caller pretending to be from Telstra. Avoid at all cost and do not call them back as they do not hang up and when you call you might think you have got through to Telstra, but you are reconnected to the scammer.

Caller: Roger Said he was a service technician from Telstra and said that my internet has been infected, there has been a lot of traffic or something. The line was not the best and I asked him for the phone number so that I could ring him back. He gave me the number and told me to ask for Roger, I did not as it sounded like a scam. I had a similar incident some time ago, Telstra advised that they do not make such calls.

Caller: ROGER GILLARD Said he was a service technician from Telstra. Went through the same procedure as what other people have reported. I asked for their phone number he said they are in Melbourne (03) 9005 5963 & email telstraservices9 @ gmail.com While I was talking to him on the phone I googled this information & it says it is a scam. I told him that & ended the conversation.

Caller: "John from Telstra" Said my internet has been infected by malicious malware from sites I have visited in the past few days and my internet is to be disconnected for 15 days unless he helps me. I said I was not at my computer and asked for a callback number. He gave me the number and his address at Exhibition Street, Melbourne VIC. He also gave me his Telstra ID number. This is definitely a scam

Claimed to be from Telstra. When asked for a callback number he gave this one. Telstra would NEVER give a landline number. Definitely a scam.

Caller: Indian people from Telstra who know I have a problem with my computer when there is not one Edward, nice Indian fellow from Telstra said there were issues with my computer. Wanted to know if I was the main user of the computer. Asked was I finding pop ups coming up on my screen, like advertisements. Asked if my computer was running slow. (These are common computer issues so nothing out of the ordinary there). Asked if I could go to my computer. I said I was already there. Edward put me through to the technical area. I never got this dude's name, put he wanted to know what I could see on my computer screen. Emails. He asked me to look at my keyboard and the bottom left key is the ctrl key. Asked what the key beside it was. I said I don't know. Asked how come. I said I did not have my glasses on. I said I am using the mouse, letters and numbers so did not need my glasses. Asked could I get them. I said I left them at a friends. Wanted to know why I left them at my friends. I said at my age that's what happens. I asked how old he was. He said 30. I said I am double that (Not really) Asked when I will be going to my friends to get my glasses. I said I did not know. Wanted to know how he could fix my problem if I did not have my glasses. I asked for a phone number. 03900 55963. He wanted to know when I would phone back. I said I did not know. Said I was rude and wanted to know why I took the number. I said because he wanted to help me. He went on and on about me being rude and why I took the number. I continued to explain so I could phone back for help when I had my glasses. I asked if I could speak to Edward again. He wanted to know why. I said because Edward was nice while he was getting angry with me. Still went on about me being rude when I explained I was not being rude. I asked where he was. Sydney. He even gave an address but I did not hear it clearly. Went on about me being rude. I explain that I worked on a helpdesk so I am not rude to helpdesk workers. Said something about the company he works for - was not right/fair on them - i forget this part of conversation. Still telling me I am rude. Then I asked "How come when I ring Telstra and speak with people on the helpdesk in Manilla or India, they ask if they can continue speaking with me instead of putting me on hold. They tell me that I am nice and they like speaking with me. How come when the Telstra Helpdesk rings me, I am told that I am rude". He hung up at this point. Now that is rude.
