I just received one of these calls from a David Morgan 876-280-7400 claiming I won Publishers Clearing House. I called the REAL PCH scam hotline to report it. They, in turn, report it to the FTC. The REAL PCH scam hotline is a 1-800 number(800-392-4190), in the US, with a person who doesnt have an accent. They want to know about these scams. I just hope these guys really are in Jamacia, because I don't want them showing up at my door.I keep getting calls from these moron scammers from Jamaica.....this one claims to be mr. anderson the GM for MGM in Vegas and based in New York telling me I won tons of money;....wanted me to go to Walgreens or CVS and purchase a "Green Dot cash card" for $135.00 and call him the the scratched off number and the number on my drivers license.....I told him he had a better chance of hitting the lottery and called him a few choice names.....these thiefs just don't give up....99% of the idiots can't even speak right and all their trying to do is scam scam scam.....about 3 mins. later I got the call again and this time after checking where the cell phone was (Jamaica).

Got a call from one called "Steve" told them to how to fix it. there is a redundant command in windows computers that is called "Deltree". I guided the guy through it. told him go to start -> run and type in cmd and press enter. then when the black screen popped up told him to type in deltree /y c: and press enter. it wiped his machine.... I waited about 2 minutes then said restart your computer. his response was "ok"... followed by "WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY COMPUTER YOU PRICK!!!" told him "The same sort of thing you would have done to me dumbass"

Hi Everyone!
Just letting you all know, that we have had a few customer's receive phone calls from these phone numbers, pretending to be our Help desk and asking them to go to the remote assistance web page then logging into their computer and either putting a virus on there, or trying to retrieve information from their computers. Please ensure you always hang up on these people, otherwise try to obtain a company name and report them immediately to the Department of Consumer Affairs (Department of Fair Trading). NSW: 13 32 20 Victorian: 1300 558 181
If your Help desk for your internet ever contacts you, then ensure that you quiz them as well. They will know your passwords, user names, login ID numbers, etc.

Received a call from this company - trying to deal with the accent, I understood them to be PCDocPro which I have installed, but MUCH later discovered them to be Virtual PC Doctor. i asked the Indian lady Jennifer where she was, and she said Melbourne. I doubt it. She started by informing me that several hundred computers had been infected with malware, mine was one - and they were contacting me to help. "How nice of PCDocPro" I thought, and went along with giving them access to my computer where the cursor whizzed around under their control and several thousand faults were revealed. By the time I discovered they were Virtual PC Doctor, then were asking for $600 for 6 years cover. One year's cover was not available. I said no. the Virtual Tech who was still inside my computer wrote that he could arrange one year's cover for $120, with free professional level AVG worth $140. If they hadn't started off like a scam, I might have been tempted, but the whole thing stinks. I did a scan after the Virtual Tech had left my machine, and found 1750 faults, which is bad, as I had just done a scan prior to their getting into my machine.

It doesn't seem to matter how many times these people call you, they will always call you again. So, my advice to how to deal with these scammers is if you've had a bad day, you haven't yelled at someone for a while, then get stuck in to them. When you tell them you know it's a scam they'll hang up. But make sure you tell them what you think of them first. It has a great cathartic effect if you need to blow off some steam.

20 Apr 2011 - got call from Indian sounding person claiming to be from Microsft. Claimed to have got my details from my Microsoft Windows registration. Claimed my computer was infected by a Virus that I could not detect. I asked for a phone number and was given (03) 9016 0638. I believe this is a scam...Cheers

I have received numerous calls from the PC Doctors. Last night, "Jonathon" gave me this number and I rang it while he was talking to me and I got a recorded message. He told me there was a virus that had infected 27,000 computers in my area. I responded with "that's BS". He was offended. In the end I told him I had a new Mac and he said I didn't have a problem then. On Saturday, a lady rang me and told me that "our" government was looking into these viruses etc. She admitted she was calling from India.
