Caller: They state they are Amplifon but they are not!!!

I had actually heard about this scam from people as they know that I am in the industry to know....which is actually very interesting because I work for Amplifon and we do not cold call anyone!!!
They are definitely a scam and the other peoples replies are correct they are trying to get you in for a check up and them they will say that you are in need of further tests etc...

DO NOT ANSWER!! SCAMMERS

My mum got a cold call from Amplifon Hearing telling her it was a Department of Health requirement that residents over the age of 60 MUST have a hearing test.

Absolute nonsense. They are scaring people into booking a 'free' test with them where they WILL then find a hearing problem and prescribe a very expensive solution.

They have nothing to do with the Department of Health and are a Private business. Disgraceful

Said I was due for free hearing test. Had the address for the Kingston Tas business. Had my name and address already. Just booked me in got my mobile number and email address. When I checked my mobile noticed a scammers message was detected. It was the same number as this. Until then I didn’t know I was being scammed.

i think we should report to the govement department to either warming them or cancel their business licence. they are crimial ... try to scam the older austrain and sham on them

I wish I'd realised before hanging up this was straight out a cold call so I could tell her I'm on the do not call register and it's an unsolicited call, dammit.

I think this is an attempt to get a lot of people doing hearing tests - they don't need to sell you anything, when they say 'free' I'd bet they mean 'we charge Medicare for every test'

They keep calling me and never leave A message. I had the free hearing test done with them several times over the years and they are good. However, I don’t undertake the frequent follow up. I have stopped answering their calls.
