That number just called me again and I answered it about half way through the first ring (almost instantly). It was TELSTRA asking me if I was happy with my phone plans etc...

I keep getting calls from this number aswell, random times of day and it always hangs up when I answer. I haven't tried calling them back. Has anyone found out who is it yet???

Me too.  but it happens lots and it started about six months ago.

Thanks to the comment above (caz 20 May 2009), I also called Telstra Residential Customer Service and received excellent service.  The Telemarketing call was confirmed, and I have now been setup to "opt out of Telstra telemarketing".
