Said they were from AGL, knew my name, wanted to "make sure I'm getting the most out of their services and offers", or something like that. Maybe legit, but I hung up on them.

Been getting calls from this number of the past few days. They are a call centre representing AGL. First time I answered, I told them I wasn't interested. Second time I answered, they tried to get me to "verify my personal details" before talking to me... I told them I wasn't going to provide a stranger my personal details over the phone. So instead, they read out my year of birth to confirm they knew me. Again, I told them I wasn't interested and told them to stop contacting me.
Since then, they've tried to contact me 3-4 times in the past 2 days. My number is registered on the "Do Not Call" list, so I've lodged a complaint with ACMA.
IMHO, these guys are legit. But telemarketing is still a sh*tty practice, particularly if you've already opted out. Please don't just block them -- make a complaint to ACMA. The only way companies like AGL learn is if they get a fine. You've got to hurt them in the hip pocket.

They called me and ask for my personal information. I got pissed and didn't tell them anything. Then I call AGL and they confirmed that the number is from AGL. I told them this is really bad business practice to call customers and ask them for personal details.

Wanted me to CONFIRM PERSONAL DETAILS. I refused and told him he's a scam and I'm calling POLICE. He hung up quick smart.

Said they were from the Australian Tax Office, asian call centre, asking for the old resident by name. Played along for a while, told them I was busy and needed to call them back to get their number, then informed them that the ex-resident died, and I'm actually passing their call centre details on to the local police and interpol. Hope law enforcement do something about these scumbags.

Caller: AGL Sales I received a call on my home phone from this number, which was not known to me, so I rejected the call. I immediately received a call on my mobile from that same number, so I also rejected that call.
I checked here and found lots of mentions of AGL. I am an AGL customer, so I contacted them by email.
They have confirmed that it was AGL Sales trying to contact me about a discount offer. This is despite the fact that I have set my contact preferences to only receive marketing offers by letter! I find this kind of behaviour aggressive and unwarranted. Do they actually think that their good customers appreciate being cold-called by a high-pressure sales person, when they have clearly indicated that they do not want this?
They are no better than scammers.....

Have received several calls from this number in the past few days but not answered them. Now that I see they are AGL I have changed electricity retailers. Every call is a lost customer in my view.

Today 30 Sep 2016. They called sounded like computer talk "there is a call for you, pleas hold the line while we connect you". I just hung up. Obviously some scamming gong on.

Likely scammers are using this phone number as a mask and falsely claiming to be AGL. Do not provide any private details - it is not AGL. Phishing for private details to commit fraud.

Been getting constant calls from this number. I didn't answer it as it says here it's AGL upselling. Calls everyday unceasingly.
