This is AGL Energy and they ring and ring and ring and never leave a message. We have just taken our business elsewhere and now they are attempting to contact us about God knows what. I rang back and barred my phone number and got told by a man with a strong Indian accent that they are not allowed to leave a message. I just want them to leave us alone. AGL is the worst energy company in Australia for service.

I left AGL after asking them to match Alinta Energy's prices. They said they couldn't do it so I made the switch to Alinta. THEN just as the switch is about to happen, they advise me that they have decided to match Alinta's prices and are calling me and writing to me begging me to stay. Bizarre that the only time they start taking you seriously is when you've already left them.

AGL Calling to ask why I had switched providers.
Told them it had nothing to do with service or price, but a protest against their green energy policy
and their destruction of existing coal fired plants.

A week ago I left AGL for another provider and they sent me a 'don't go' SMS with a big discount offer. About 1 minute after read it and click though the the AGL site to view the offer this number rang but I didn't answer. I checked the number on this site which confirmed it is AGL. Sorry AGL but you screwed up so people leave. The number rings 2 - 3 times. I have now blocked their number.

AGL: just changed to Alinta so assume they are trying to get me to change my mind. AGL, if your reading this, instead of trying to claw back customers once they leave with offers of better rates, try giving better rates to begin with!

Answered this number which has recently calling, no sound on line. called me several times. I have recently f*cked AGL off for dropping my payontime discout from 20% to 11%. When I queried them they informed me I should be happy because the extra 1% is only for favoured customers. Found a site online comparing discounts etc and now have a payontime discount of 32%.
I have been lied to and exploited by AGL too long. I encourage all of their customers to look elsewhere for a alternative biller. AGL has no loyalty to customers so they deserve none.
Vote your lack of confidence in AGL by leaving them. Under the circumstances it is your only effective strategy.

ITS AGL..... I INFORMED THEM I NO LONGER NEEDED THERE SERVICES OVER THE PHONE & IMMEDIATELY THE AGL TEAM MEMBER WENT FROM NICE TO ARROGANT. THEN THE CALLS STARTED DAILY INC WEEKENDS, NEVER ANSWERED & NOW BLOCKED!

Had a missed call with this number today. I am still with AGL so assuming this number is still indeed AGL's, wonder why they're starting to call me. Bills are all paid up on time always.

Had a missed call from this number. Rang the number back. A man with an accent (didn't really bother me the accent) answered the phone, I thought I woke the poor guy up. He sounded half asleep. He claimed he's from AGL. Sounded suspicious why AGL are calling me on a 03 number usually it is a 13 number. It was an interesting conversation talking to this so called AGL representative as when I questioned him "you're not from AGL" he answered that's right. I did not give any of my details as doubted this is a legit contact number for AGL.

AGL if this is the service you are providing to your loyal clients, I'll start shopping around. I'm sure there's a better energy provider out there that offer a better service.

AGL engaging in undue-harassment by way of frequency of contact regarding debt. These actions are illegal and do constitute undue-harassment. If you're being harassed by AGL it is recommended that you record all event(s) and report the matter to the police, you should press charges for undue-harassment as AGL act in breach of ACCC guidelines regarding debt collection and frequency of contact.

After reading all the comments below, I totally agree. Customer of AGL for 35 years for both gas and electricity. When I recently approached them for a better discount they literally blew me off. Offered me a one off $25,00 "gift" for me being such a longtime customer. I have left gone to Red Energy super polite, super helpful and prices very competitive. AGL your loss.

AGL retention team. Legitimate call.

People complaining need to learn how to 'game' the system to their advantage. AGL will not offer you their best discount until you actually put in a transfer request to a competitor. I do this every year and am currently sitting on 44% discount for Elec and 36% for Gas. (Victoria)

AGL Sales.
Told AGL that Click Energy providing cheaper prices. AGL offered discount on ontime pay (charging higher for everyday use then discounting..funny) but could not match the price. Once the transfer request received then they start calling or emailing to offer further discounts.
Funny with them for last 10-15 years but no real value or discount offered.

ok so now i know who this number belongs to and why they are calling. Asked AGL for a better deal after 10 years... we are currently in a playing field of other competition.. they must know that.. no response or reply. so went elsewhere (as we all seem to have done!) and now i am going to get the call.. tempted to tell them why just as a courtesy (and because they probably record the call) then block.

Recurring calls after moving to a new provider. Prompted by AGL's price gouging after Hazlewood closure, overcharging me for 8 years and incompetent installation of hot water system, poor after sales service.
