Called back and appears to be an outbound ANZ call centre - msg only

This be warned it is not ANZ it is a spam call been on the phone for the last half an hour ANZ trying to figure out why they would be ringing me and they have not made one attempt to call me at all and if the company does do that and they have not reached you the company put the stamp notification on your file so if you do ring back ANZ then they noted been trying to call you but nothing is coming up on their system so it's not a legit phone call from ANZ do not give out any personal details or information

Claimed to be from ANZ, Said I should have received a text message in advance. Knew my year of birth but asked for day and month to confirm I was the right person. I refused to give it. He spun the story that my Visa Debit account product was about to be discontinued. Unsurprisingly, there is no online message from ANZ so I reckon its a scam.

Caller claimed that he is calling from ANZ (03) 8569 4281, and said one my account has problem and he wish to verify. He asked me to confirm my address and other details before he spoke to about my accounts. Surprisingly he knew which street I live but when I insisted that he should be identified then he started to get panic and suggested to call ANZ hot line and someone in the desk can route the call. when I asked his extension and to spell his name then he started talking non-sense and I simply cut the call saying I will call the hot line in the next 30 mins.

I rang back the number (03) 8569 4281, spoke with someone who hung up right away
