I received a text from someone claiming to be from the ANZ Business Centre. The message said I would be getting a call from them shortly. During the call, the representative offered to book a follow-up appointment to review my accounts and ensure I’m getting the best deals and opportunities available. When it came time to schedule a date, I told him I don’t have much availability right now and suggested I could just call the official ANZ number myself to organise a time. He seemed quite taken aback by this and hesitated. He then insisted that it would be easier and quicker to use his direct number for contact.

Caller: Chamly A male stating they were ANZ BUSINESS CENTRE, trying to confirm a credit card application under my sole trader name- which I had not initiated.
