Caller: Unknown phone caller

This number is part of a number of calls I’ve received from Victoria with differing locations. I’ve returned one call and it picked up then hung up on me.
I’m assuming that the call made to me was part of the first round to find out if my number was active.
I’m expecting the next lot of unknown callers will come from unknown numbers which will attempt to convince me they are from power companies or telephone companies vying for my business.

They are very sneaky, cunning in their approach and it’s not hard to understand why the aged with impaired thinking could be fooled into thinking they are talking to real businesses.

These aged people don’t realise that while they may be somewhat cautious and think they are being very careful with their information. They don’t realise just how little information the scammers need in order to steal someone’s identity or have that information used to take money from the unsuspecting person. Especially if they are communicating via their computers, laptops, and internet browsers on their mobiles / tablets.

Please treat all calls coming from numbers from interstate where the number is from a area they know no one or their numbers are masked and their mobiles say unknown number. Treat it as very suspicious. I follow one primary rule.
If it’s a unknown number and they need to communicate with you. They will leave a message of some sort. If no message is left. Treat it as a scam until it’s proven otherwise.
