I am getting a couple of calls per day. I answer the phone, there is silence and then the phone disconnects. I try and call the number back and a recorded voice tells me the number is not connected.

I have family and friends interstate and the last thing I want to do is avoid calls because of telemarketers - what if it's a hospital saying my mother is unwell? This phone number is now blocked and I recommend everyone does the same.

PS Anonymous in March - my bank call centre isn't in India, so that story doesn't work for me. Soz

Got 5 calls from this number in a week. I don't even bother answering because I know it's going to be the same s**t about asking what insurance you have and they have a better deal.

OMG, you never ever ever give your bank details to someone over the phone, if the bank is really calling YOU they have your info ALREADY, if you need to change your password/pin # do that at a branch in PERSON !!

Seriously though.
Indian call centre running a scam. Called 3 times from the same number, 1st time said they were from my bank and needed account details to verify it’s me. 2nd time they said they were a mortgage broker trying to update their system details and needed me to send my contract through to them.
3rd time said they were from an insurance line and have set up insurance under my name but needed to verify my details..

Dodgy Indian terrorists...
