Caller: Someone who said they were from Energy Australia

A person with a heavy Indian or Pakistani accent rang me on the 25/04/24. They had rung twice before but I didn't make it to my phone on time. The caller knew my name and told me he worked for Energy Australia. He wanted to confirm my contact details and DOB, etc before telling me what the call was about. I told him I was not comfortable with providing that information and politely ended the call. My phone showed the number was from Craigeburn in Victoria but did not identify the caller as EnergyAustralia. I have lodged a complaint with EnergyAustralia and am awaiting their reply.

I called them to cancel my account and refund my credit. They called me back the same day, an hour later. They called because the lady who quoted my refund, had incorrectly quoted it. The lady was simply calling to recorrect my misquote. Numbers legit, because it was the same chick who misquoted me that called. She was correcting her mistake. No problems here.

Caller: Supposedly Energy Australia

I spoke to Energy Australia on the evening of Thursday 15th August about our account. By 8am on Friday 16th August, I received no fewer than 7 calls in 1.5 hours, with the phone ringing three times in a row twice. The number was showing as from Craigieburn Australia. The actual account holder for Energy Australia was also subject to the suspicious calls in the same way. We let the calls ring out. It was disturbing the way we were harrassed.

I just experienced an identity theft recently, This number rang me twice today after I recovered my account access, both times were some people with Indian accent claimed themselves to be staff from Energy Australia, very suspecious.

Legitimate call from Energy Australia. We were in a call that I had made due to moving house and disconnecting my service, and we were disconnected, so my customer service representative called me back on his number. It’s legit 🙂

Following a call I made to Energy Australia to discuss my recent service connection, the same representative called me back from this number (03) 8364 1100 to discuss a further question. The caller ID showed the call originated from Craigieburn, but the customer service representative might have been based in the Philippines.

The other account holder was getting the same calls from this (02) 8364 1100 immediately before my calls. It was like we were being harrassed continously for 20 minutes. We didn't pick up and they didn't leave a message.

I was on a call with energy australia but the line disconnected. I believe they tried to call me back on this number but i didn't pick it up just in case

I signed up to EA and they called me back to advise that the rebate quote they had given me was slightly incorrect. She gave me details that only someone that had heard our original phone call could know, before I had to identify myself.

I had rung Energy Aust and the call got cut off. They range me back and this was the number they used.

This number has called me 10 times in the last 3 hours. I haven't answered it and they won't leave a message. In reference to previous people saying it's Energy Australia, it might be. I organised a disconnection with them today and I bet the want to harrass me about going with them on the new place.

We received 2 calls from this number,ask bank things. We asked qustions they said they can't tell us,we will ring .

Caller hung up as soon as I answered. Scammer probably.
