Get this number calling all the time. Dodgy number for me as I have dealings with a VIC number. They can always leave a msg but never do. Ignore them.

It' not NAB, it' a scam!
I rang NAB after being called and they said the name given me was not one of their employees. They ask increasingly more revealing questions phishing for personal details for later frauds.

I just tell them I'll get the home owner - then I put the phone down on the table. I couldn't tell you how long they sit there waiting until they hang up? I'd live to know. What I do know is when I come back to the phone after 20 odd minutes - there's never anyone there..!

I wish these people would stop ringing my number. If you know me or if it is an emergency, you will leave a message so I know what the call is about. Other than that it is harrassment.

Rob, you obviously don't get too many of these calls to call others wingers. Put yourself in their places or mine for example with 22 (03),
9 (07), 4 (02) a mess of overseas as well as all the private or blocked numbers. they don't bother me anymore, because they're identified on the display & voice IDs as who or what they are.
Your problem is apathy.

Scott is right to some degree about the Do Not Call register - it's definitely handy! - but keep in mind the DNC Register does only apply to sales calls, NOT market research calls (data collections/surveys etc) or fundraising calls (not-for-profit/asking for donations etc). I've found that all I needed to do was ask that they remove my number, and any other contact info they may have for me, from their database so you don't get called back by them. It worked for me - I called up NAB and verified it was done, and it was.

This is SOOOO annoying! I've actually spoken to them once and demanded they remove my name from the list - I was told it WAS, only to receive another two missed calls! And again, the call rang maybe three or four times and they hung up!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

You'll NEVER guess... I got another call from this number just now and had the opportunity to answer it. It is the NAB (National Australia Bank) calling their existing customers to take part in a survey. I expressed my annoyances and demanded that my number be taken off their calling list. Their policy dictates that they cannot leave a message as they are an outgoing call centre only. I then asked that she pass my request on to their 'policy makers' to allow them to leave a short message stating who they were.

We shall see!

If you just tell them you dont want anymore calls they can permanently take you off the call list. They have your home and mobile numbers because its all in the NAB records. So just tell them to lose your number!

MissPiggy

Putting your number on the do not call register will have NO effect on calls from this number.

NAB's MRC is a genuine market research centre.

The only way to stop getting calls is to communicate with this centre directly and ask them very clearly never to call you again.

http://www.nab.com.au/wps/wcm/connect/nab/nab/home/About_Us/3/14/  has the following phone number you can use to request to be removed. 1800 100 335

There is no one "cottoning on" to your habits, they probably use an automatic dialler which just rolls through tens of thousands of numbers pretty much at random.

ABOUT SIX TIMES A DAY F@*&% THEM I REFUSE TO ANSWER

OK, now everyone!  All you need to do is tell them "take me off the list for any future research."  If you do this then they will. If you say "I don't want to do the survey" that means you will not be contacted for that particular project. That is why you would have received calls in August and in December. If you say "F**K off" that basically doesn't say that you don't want to be contacted for another survey ESPECIALLY if you haven't even given a name. There may be someone in the household who actually does want their opinion to count.

THEY'RE NOT TELEMARKETERS. YOU LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SERVICE FROM NAB AND SAY NO ONE LISTENS TO YOU, YET WHEN SOMEONE IS ON THE PHONE AND READY TO TAKE YOUR FEEDBACK YOU TELL THEM TO F**CK OFF. Go figure

kiki

Have had same problem with probably 10 or so calls since this morning, some closer, some further apart, and no message left. Having traced the number to this site and the word it being NAB, I wanted to call NAB first and ask if the number was associated with them. The operator couldn't trace it but said she wouldn't be able to anyway if it was on an automated call out system, but that it was most likely legit (and to only be wary if they start asking for details like birth date etc).I'm going to answer it next time and tell them I'm not interested, so at least the calls will stop. Not very nice trying to sleep through a constantly ringing phone.
