Answered call, line was dead and then it disconnected

Rung and then hung up.

Rang back Optus said the number is disconnected.

Energy company offering a discount. Tried to confirm my identity and then hung up on me when I asked to be taken off the list.

was suspicious so let it go to voicemail - no message then I called it back within a min and number disconnected

Marketing for electricity, telling you discounts you could receive.

This number showed up on my mobile this morning. With an 03 7prefix, (Vics are 03 9 or 03 8) I gathered straight away it was dodgy.
Thankful to this site to confirm this and have now blocked

Asks if my electricity discount was paid to me! Then hangs up? Very strange,could not pronounce my name correctly, usually means foreign.

when I asked are you from energy co. person replied NO. then he proceded to tell me he was from some energy co. HOW STUPID! He just laughed. I blocked the number.
