SCAM caller recorded message purporting to be from eBay

As above I had a similar experience. So called eBay security. The guy was very insistent and was even able to tell me my name when I asked him who I was. I was talked through step by step on how to download splashtop sos. Once ap had downloaded I could see it was for remote access. I was then advised to select a button at the top of my phone screen. At this the alarm bells started ringing and I didn’t do and I hung up on him.
Very easy to be scammed particularly if you are busy and not thinking carefully.
I think I dodged a bullet.

Caller: Someone pretending to be from ebay

I just got a call from a random person stating they are from ebay and someone from China has used my mobile number and purchased something. I need to install splashtop sos application for ebay secirity to cancel the account. When I asked them to give me a proof that my number has been used, they said they cant disclose. That guy didnt even know my name. When I became suspecious, he hung up immediately

Call from someone from ebay saying id been hacked from someone in California.
$200 was coming out of my acct. Asked me to download splashtop sos to stop the money from getting taken.
When i questioned her she said its up to you if you want to keep your money ? Seemed frustrated with me. gave me a random staff number of 4 numbers then i hung up.

They said they were from eBay and I had a false claim and then tried to get me to download somebody’s accessing your account”. Asked me to download an app splashtop sos… phishing scan app to record details entered. I called her out on it & she hung up on me.

(02) 4210 9655 says was from ebay and someone from California had accessed my account and was about to debit $199 , I just woke up and wasn't onto it straight away so got halfway through the process them asked her hiw do I know she's not the scammer and she swore abit then she hung up

Caller: Pretending to be eBay

The number left an automated voice recording saying i would have money debited from my account. Call centre responder stated they are eBay and that “somebody’s accessing your account”. Asked me to download an app splashtop sos… phishing scan app to record details entered. I called her out on it & she hung up on me!!
