Scam caller spoke with foreign accent phishing for personal details

Caller: “Rose”

Indian woman saying the Victorian government is giving away free hot water systems and do I have a gas or electric system. I said we just replaced ours and then she asks if I have any other properties. I said no and take me off your list. She addressed me by name too so pretty disturbing

Did you at any time apply for the VIC Gov $250 utilities grant, because that has been compromised

Total bollocks about a government funded hot water system.
Ok so shockingly the lady that called me this time was actually lovely and polite for a change which I appreciated but literally EVERY day between 3-6 times a day some pack of rude bastards are (between the swearing and threats and hang ups) trying to sell me some product or another on a government rebate. It’s doing my head in.

They really need to do something about this, like scrap the program entirely, cuz between the outright scams and the fact the government allows any prick with an ABN regardless of skill or service to access these things means you pretty much instantly mistrust anybody offering anything. Which makes dealing with this sh*te all the more pointless.

Phone did not ring. Just as a message to say "missed call from this number"

Tried calling back and computer voice says "goodbye"
