I called back the number twice, as I lost the connection the first time when the foreign sounding female voice (Indian?) disconnected when I asked who I had called. The second call I got a male voice again foreign sounding and probably Indian. When I asked who I had called, he said PayPal, PayPal, then ran on about noticing a transaction problem on my account that could be fixed over the pgone. At this point, I had not given ANY personal identifying information so how could he know there was an account problem? Further, i haven't used PayPal in years.
I hung up and blocked the number. I tried to report the scam to PayPal and ACCC but they both make it so difficult and want too much personal information.

returned missed call - they didn't answer the phone with any identifying names - I said I was returning their call and foreign accented woman said there was an amount of $290 something on my pay pal account they wanted to discuss.

After a recent paypal transaction received a call which I let go to voicemail about "a payment is about to be made from your account", with press 1, press 2 options.
A scam.

Caller: Says automated call from paypal saying $299.99 will be debited from my a count. PRESS 1 TO CANCEL
