A Melbourne sourced number that doesn’t leave a message and when you call back it’s disconnected
SCAMMERS!!

Caller: Claimed to be BUPA

Claimed to be from BUPA. Sounded legit at first because I knew BUPA's head office is in Melbourne and she knew my first name. She even said 'this call may be recorded for training' etc. Claimed to be ringing to check on some of my account details. But when I asked for more info about what she was after, she evaded my questions. Told her I'm not going to share anything and that I'm hanging up - she kept trying to keep me talking. Call only lasted seconds but long enough to know it's definitely a scam.

Had the same call from the number claiming to be from Bupa. Thought it was a scam and hung up when i was asked for personal details. Then I contacted Bupa about it and they verified that it was a legitimate call. Apparently when you join, someone from their Welcome team calls to check in and see if you have any questions. Not a scam!

I didn't answer, but I signed up for Bupa a week ago.

They call relentlessly, until you take the call. Yes it’s the BUPA welcome team. But when you politely say you’re at work and don’t have time for the call, they advise they’ll call back. No! I don’t want a call back. A welcome email would suffice.

No answer on end when I answered. I tried to call back and disconnected

It was BUPA who called ... yes their Welcome Team ... but really a call disguised as a welcome call to actually see if you want to buy MORE insurance. By the way, I signed up with them recently and got this call today. She told me to check on any item numbers I would have to call them (my prior insurance let me just go on the website and check the item number) ... so I'm calling them now (later in the day) ... so far the wait is 19mins. There is no direct messaging via the website (it gets you to scan a code on your phone instead). Soooo maybe I'll be changing again sooner than I thought!!! #1 rule: make sure your customers get good service quickly ... BUPA you're now out
