Caller: Claimed to be from Westpac Visa MC verification department. Someone using this number called my sister-in-law at 9.45 a.m. on 21/1/24 "advising" that someone in New Zealand had tried to access an account belonging to my mother (who passed away 6 years ago, so no accounts still open in her name), attempting to withdraw $800. Had the number really been registered to Westpac, my query on this site would have said so; ergo, definitely a scam.

They just called. Claimed they were from Visa/Mastercard Services. I disconnected.
