At Christmas 2010 my family gave me 2 of these dwarf lemons trees as presents as I had just retired to the Sunshine Coast to a new house. 14 months later the trees are still no higher than 15 inches and what few lemons they have produced (approx. 6 lemons each) are no bigger than a small plum and measure 5cm long x 4cm wide. So much for your claim on the plant tag of “an abundance of full sized fruit. To make your claim even more phoney there are only a few drops of juice in each lemon despite being watered and fertilized regularly as I have my own water tank.
I can take photos or you can send someone around to my house to see for themselves how pathetic these “Lot’s A’Lemons with an abundance of full sized fruit” really are.
I had a real Myer lemon tree in Brisbane for 10 years so know what full sized fruit really are and how to look after real citrus trees.
I took a lemon down to Bunnings recently where they were purchased and after much discussion they finally agreed to replace one of the trees free of charge. I did not have any receipts for the purchase of course so I was appreciative of their action.
My daughters have informed me that they paid about $25 each for the plants 14 months ago and now feel embarrassed by the results. Fortunately I have been able to stop other people especially at my local bowling club from making the same mistake in buying them after relating my current experience to them.
I am very disappointed that companies like yours are able to get away with this type of misleading and dishonest advertising, and before I take it further with the relevant govt bodies I would like to know what compensation your company has to offer.
Thank you
