claimed to be calling about my internet. said i had downloaded something containing malware and now my computer security is at risk. since internet supplier doesn't make calls like this, i know its a complete scam. they want you to install a program, supposedly so they can fix problem, but it will give them access to all your passwords and keystrokes. Hang up on them, ignore them.

04534413265 has called me a number of times. In a foreign voice, the male or female caller identifies themselves as calling from "Telstra" and saying that there's something wrong with my internet connection. It's quite hard to understand what is being said because of the accents and because of the "telemarketing" noises of many people speaking in the background. Obviously a scam from a busy call centre but I haven't stayed on the phone long enough to get more detail. Once I say I do not have the internet they usually hang up. I also sometimes pick up the phone and don't speak, and they hang up. I understand from my own enquiries that they wish to get people to install a program to "fix" the "problem" but that this program gives them access to your computer so that they can obtain access to your bank accounts in order to make unauthorised withdrawals.

I received two calls from this number today. Both Indian - first a male, then a female, both saying my computer was compromised and they needed to fix it.
The second one I said I don't have a computer and she hung up straight away, but the first one I had a bit of fun with, by playing dumb and tried to get him to show me what I needed to do. He soon hung up when he realised I was just playing him at his own game.
Bloody scammers!

I didn't answer but googled the number. It used to belong to a business in Victoria to do with olives. We're picking olives atm, so I thought it could have been legit. I called the number back but it's now disconnected. Will let the business know via their mobile nr that this number has been spoofed.

when "Paul" answered he said there is a problem with my internet. I am very familiar with this type of scam and I was going to give a blast of "don't call me and stop scamming innocent old people", but what he said was so ridiculously sounding all I could do was to BURST OUT laughing!

total scam tell others about this wonderful website so others can be warned!

I answered, they didn't - hung up. I usually string them along and then give them a verbal dressing down. Such low-lifes!

Received a call this morning from this number, by a male with a foreign accent, stating that my computer was sending spam emails and asked for me to go to my computer. When I said I wasn't with my computer, he insisted he would ring back, refusing to my request to send me an email with the supposed problems, or at least to give me my computer serial number for confirmation. In the end, after saying he would ring back in the evening, he hang up on me. Didn't strike me as very professional or trustworthy, glad I checked online!
