1.5 hours after a legitimate phone call with Telstra about my slow NBN connection received a call from this number. It seemed to dovetail with the original Telstra call. I became suspicious and when I asked for my first name, they could not provide it. After a follow up with Telstra, Telstra suggested for all future works to make sure you get the job id number and use that as security.

Caller: Asian Lady from Telstra Security Department 132 Exhibition Street Melbourne

My internet would be disconnected in 1 hour due to security breaches, referred me to her supervisor when I said I was not interested. Same script from him.
2 calls in 5 mins.

I have received 4 calls from this number within the last hour and a half. I did not answer it the first 2 times but got tired of them calling the 3rd time so I answered it and the woman claimed to be from Telstra and my internet was going to be disconnected if I didn't go to my computer and follow her instructions. I told her I knew it was a scam but she was very persistent and kept telling me to go to my computer and tell her which key was to the left of the control key on my keyboard. I told her I was on the 'Do Not Call' register and was going to report the number, she kept telling me to go to my computer. Finally she hung up. While filing in a complaint form to the 'Do Not Call' register I had a 4th call from the same number, when I told her I'd just spoken to someone else from her scam centre she quickly hung up!

Caller: lady with foreign accent

Very persistent lady who says she is from the Telstra technical department saying that my internet will be interupted for at least 15 days. When I told her that my internet provider was a different company and not Telstra she said that most providers use the Telstra network. She insisted that I go to my computer ans switch it on and she would talk me through what I had to do.
Scam? We are constantly advised to be aware of people getting you to do things on your computer that they tell you to do so I said no and hung up. Besides its a public holiday in Australia, so why would they be working?
