I have programmed my caller ID modem to answer the phone when this number rings. These clowns have been calling every few weeks for months, only to hear the sound of an answering modem. hahaha

I had missed calls from this number pretty much everyday. When I answer there I'd no sound from the other end which freak me out. I called them and found out it's Origin Energy Australia telemarketer . All I did was asked them to remove my number from their list. They have mentioned it takes 48 hours to update the database. Anyway after that no more calls from them.

I just called the number. Option to speak to someone. No waiting. She cheerfully removed my number. Now if I get aNOTHer call........that'll be another story- but so far so unexpectedly easy. I find that pointing out that I will waste precious time for them ie "No- seriously, I am uncrackable, and every second going by is wasting sales. I'm trying to release you- fly little birdy, fly!...." etc etc 1. Freaks them out and 2. Generally does the job. Both good outcomes;)

I am getting calls from this number 2 or 3 times a week . Once i received their call and it was about some promotional offer which i was not interested in. Still they keep ringing and i know its them so i keep ignoring their calls. I hate such calls , telemarketing things from different companies. I can understand they might be doing their job but its unnecessary for me.

I have a sick mother so have a private number so she will not be disturbed. This harassment is criminal and an invasion of privacy. On principal I will never deal with Origin.

If you don't want any more Origin marketing calls. Just call up Serco and ask them to remove you from their calling list. It is as easy as that.

Screw these guys. I listed this number on DNC register months ago, called Origin directly to be taken off all marketing lists, and STILL receive daily calls leaving an automated voicemail.

they've called me and i swear at them down the phone. save their number in your mobile as a new number as 'serco WANKERS' and have a fart noise as their ringtone. then you know not to answer it and they'll go away

Yes I had another call from this number this morning wanting to speak to the business owner about a letter supposedly they sent out about an energy offer expiring today 2/5/13.
They answered the phone and it was silent for five seconds before a voice came onto the line.
So annoying

I called Origin Energy Complaints service via 13 24 61. The answer to my direct question (requiring only a yes or no) was that Serco 'may be' affiliated with Origin. The answer to my question 'why do they call up to twice a day and not talk', 'they may as well be heavy breathing down the end of the line', is "SORRY, WHAT IS YOUR NAME, AND ACCOUNT NUMBER WITH US, I SEE THAT THE NUMBER COMING UP ON OUR SYSTEM IS REGISTERED WITH A CURRENT ACCOUNT, ARE YOU THE ACCOUNT HOLDER?".
Essentially, you have got to somehow get through to Origin who is funding these calls to try to shut them up. mongrels.

I got a couple of calls from this number. The 1st time they hung up before i could answer it. The 2nd time, i answered , said 'hello' and silence, then they hung up. I called the number back and it turns out to be the company called Serco , advertising on behalf of Origin. I know of Serco from my days contracting to the defence force. Serco is a cheap labor opportunist company, ranging from low paid security guards to a whole bunch of other sh*tty services including this fail phone spamming advertising scam. When i called i got an answering machine but managed to speak to a person call Daniel. I told Daniel that i'm tired of their spam and if he doesn't take me off their database that i will take matters into my own hands. Daniel seemed very cheery and said no probs. told him the number to remove and now i'll wait to see if it continues. I may also look at contacting Origin and make them aware of what Serco is doing, giving them a bad name with this harassment service.

If you call Origin directly on 1800 526 369 and say that you are receiving marketing calls and would like them to stop they will remove your name from the register.
