Claimed ATO, gave reference number, threatened jail/pending arrest if not called back

called me and threatened that I was going to be arrested

Number leaving messages saying they are from the ATO and a warrant is out for my arrest. Is a scam.

Like others, I've had several calls from various numbers with a recording suggesting I will be arrested. I find it very difficult to believe that any genuine caller would use a generic recording in these circumstances. Has to be a scam. Even an obviously recorded message gives the game away. This has gone on for ever, seemingly, and I'm still free. Same goes for the scam of having NBN disconnected within 24 hours - I'm still connected!

I called back number (03) 5294 0542 rang once then gets disconnected automatically.
