Caller: ATO Fraud

Computer generated call. Saying they are the ATO fraud team and a warrant has been issued for my arrest for unpaid taxes.

Caller: SCAMMERS claiming to be the Australian Taxation Department

Received a voicemail (a pre-recorded message) from the "Australian Taxation Department" saying I'd had criminal charges filed against me and me or my lawyer were to call back the number. No reference number was given. When I called and questioned the female who answered my call as to why there would be no reference number left and how I could be certain she was in fact from my Tax Department, she hung up. I called back, a male answered differently to the female, I again asked why no reference number was left and how I could validate the legitimacy of the call without anything, he hung up. I tried to call a third time, no surprise when it rang out. Both callers did not have an Australian accent, sounded like Philippine or Manilla call centre accents.
If this was legit, I'd expect my accountant would know something about it given it's in reference to one of my tax returns.....
Pathetic losers, get a real job!! I hope they find you. I've reported this across various platforms.

I called back number (03) 5294 0420 rang once then gets disconnected automatically.

Caller: SCAMMERS claiming to be from the Australian Taxation Department

The voicemail message left said criminal charges have been laid against me. They called my work phone, not my personal one which is what is registered against my taxation file and claims. So that was the first alarm bell. No reference number was left for me, just instructions for me to call them back on the number they called from. When I called the first time, the female (not Australian accent) could not validate she was from Australian Taxation Department and after I'd said I wasn't given a reference number and she couldn't validate the legitimacy of the call, she hung up on me. I called back a second time, spoke with a male, he answered the call differently to the female (same non-Australian accent) he also could not provide me with any info until I provided him with my personal details. When I again pointed out I had no reference number and how could I possibly be sure he is from the Australian Taxation Department, he hung up. I tried to call back a third time, no surprises there when no one answered my call.
Pathetic losers, get a real job!! I'll be spreading this all over social media, I hope they find you.
