Caller: ATO Scam

The caller had an Indian accent, was slightly aggressive and said there is a warrant for my arrest but then asked for my name and address. They asked for an immediate payment of $8,000 but I said i didn't have that much then they asked me how much was in my account. Saw the ATO website and they state they don't ask for immediate payment on a first phone call and they always post or email first.

When you picked up it’s an automated message claiming to be from the ATO re a lawsuit against you

Left digital altered voice message saying call back or an arrest warrant will be generated.
Called back and a female answered the call ( they were on crowded place with lots of background noise) she identified as AUSTRALIAN TAX OFFICE and when I explained why I had called and the arrest warrant threat, she said nothing and just hung up.

Caller: Indians

Called telling me i have not filed my taxes correctly and owe 8000 dollars. he asked for an advancement of 1000 or whatever i could pay today and they would reimburse me the next day should these claims be wrong. being 18 and only having done taxes once i was very worried but as soon as i said i think its a scam he backed out of the phone call threatening to call the police and send them to my house within 20 minutes.
