I received a call from a woman asking for a $20 donation to support individuals experiencing food insecurity. I explained that I wasn't in a position to contribute, and she responded politely, thanked me, and hung up. I couldn't make an assessment about the legitimacy of her request.

Caller: Claimed as a fund raising organization

On answering - usual overseas delay before connecting and anyone spoke - except the number ID was a Victorian number - red flag. Eventually the female announced her name (not foreign accent!) and started on a blurb about raising funds to provide food for Australians below the poverty line. After asking how my donation would be used and if it would be tax deductible - became very obvious the caller had no idea what I was talking about. Clearly was another overseas scam, so I hung up and blocked the number.

Thanks to previous comments on this number, I do not answer the regular calls received.

Caller: female

After asking, "What do you want?" the female also gave me the spiel re funds for those below the poverty line. I stated, "That's me!" and hung up.
