Got a similar call today from this number. Sounded very dodgy.

They just tried their crap on me. No way mate!

left message about tax fraud and that myself or my lawyer must call back. Most definitely a scam. Sounded Indian and pre-recorded or from a call centre by the background noise.

Contacted by a gentleman purporting to be from the ATO. He requested the name of my solicitor as I needed to have representation in court to answer an action taken by the ATO. The speaker was almost certainly Indian. The connection was very bad on the mobile, so I requested if I could ring the man back on the landline. When I tried, the line was busy. I then checked Reverse Australia and saw that other folk had received like scam calls. The number I tried was (03) 4309 4118. I will now report this to the ATO as it may be entered into the Government's SCAMWATCH site.

This bloke thinks we are idiots! When I told him that I was calling the Federal Police he hung up & left the phone off the hook!!!!!!

Caller was extremely rude claiming to be australian taxation office. This scam needs to be stopped. Saying I would be issued an arrest warrant and left multiple voicemail messages.
