Scammers calling to verify if the number they are calling corresponds to the name they have.

The man who was on the call knew my mothers first name and surname and asked if it was her.
Unfortunately my elderly mother confirmed yes.
When my mum asked who is calling he hung up.

Not long later Mum received another call from this number.
This time it was an female with an Asian accent calling saying "hello hello"
My mother recognized it was the same number and quickly hung up.

I have since called that number and there is an message with a female voice stating " Hi Thanks for calling. We may have recently called you as part of a marketing campaign. Please let us know if we can assist you by leaving a message...."

Interesting the message does not state who they are ie their business/company name.

This is definitely scammers trying to verifying stolen data they have.

Warn everyone not to confirm their name when these people call asking if it is ..(your name....................)


Later in the day the same number called back
