Posted on September 18, 2019 Caller type: Robocall Location: Australia
Caller: Australian National Broadband Network (So they say) I have so far received four calls from four different Victorian landlines, this is one of them. I did not answer any of them. The synthetic robot voice is an Australian female by the name of Nicole. The message in my voicemail is as follows: "Hi this is Nicole from the Australian National broadband network. We have been trying to get in touch with you. However we are going to disconnect your land line and Internet connection within 24 hours as the NBN services are now available in your locality. So I'm interrupted services. Please press 1 to get yourself connected to the technician."
However I have already been connected locally for the last year and I was never previously with any NBN ISP. I called up my NBN provider and he reckons it is a Robo scam call. I called back that number and got a recorded voice from a man with an unprofessional yobbo Australian accent saying, "Unfortunately, we cannot connect your call at this moment. Please try again later" Then he says some numbers, as if it is a recording test, eg "Five, Four, Three, one"
