Maybe this Dee Why person has a mischievous child or housemate making nuisance calls or perhaps the phone number has beem spoofed by a scammer. I've had several annoying calls (no messages) and I want them to stop. Perhaps Telstra will help. I'm making a Telstra report today.

This is noted elsewhere as a scam and I can vouch this is a persistent scam after the usual, money. Block

Since this is a Telstra number, it means that Telstra has rented the number to this scam for a certain period of months and charged them a fortune for it, no doubt. All the phone companies do this and so are responsible for these annoying scam calls. Therefore surely the federal government can (and should) do something about it! Write to your member!

Rang about twice, so did not even have time to get to the phone. Didn't leave a message. Don't know this person.

Claimed to be from ECT travel.
Presumably the spiel would have been that I've won a competition (that I don't recall entering because I never did).
I didn't wait to find out.

Caller: Fake travel company
Travel scam. Kept asking if I wanted to take advantage of the discount package offer. Ignored my repeated question that I had NEVER filled in a form and where did she get my details from. When I finally told her I wasn't going to agree to anything before she'd explained what the offer was, she said once I'd accepted, she'd put me through to her supervisor who'd explain everything. I told her I knew it was a scam and declined. My theory - the longer you keep them talking the less time they have to try and scam someone more gullible and the more frustrating it is for them.
