Rang number back and got a voice message apologising that someone is using their number to call (scam)... they say that their provider is trying to track down the hacker who is using this number.

Does anyone know how scammers can actually spoof a real telephone number?? I didn't think that was possible in Australia!

Answered this because it looked like a local call. Instead it was an Indian man telling me that a family member had been in a car accident. Thankfully, I was already aware of this disgusting scam and promptly hung up. I just wish something could be done to stop all these scammers. I don't think the Do Not Call Register is working at all.
