Caller: Said they were from MasterCard and visa security

Man said he was from MasterCard and visa security and there had been two transactions on my card (he used my maiden name) for nearly $300 each this morning. I quickly checked my bank app and there were no transactions, told him so and hung up. Seems like some kind of scam to me! I didn’t want to talk to him for long enough to find out.

Yep they are still trying the old furphy of “Hello. This is xxx calling from the security department of Visa and Mastercard”. At which point I burst out laughing and told “Felix” that he was a moron who thought I might be as stupid as he and not know that Visa and Mastercard are competitors not partners. Wish these scum would just disappear from the face of the earth!

Another scammer. Karma will get them!!

This came up as a number in Chippendale NSW. Person unknown to me. This call actually went to Message bank and I could clearly hear the people in a call centre before the call was terminated. This has to be a low spoofing attempt.
