This is a very clever front used to gather intelligence for debt collectors. They ask how many TVs and computers you own, your address, phone services, mobile phones , tablets and eventually ask to come to your home to install freetoair TV equipment or similar devices after confirming your personal details. Every call is recorded to verify your identity so repossession field agents can be deployed to your home address from the relative debt collection entity.

Yep got a call from this number, keep trying d*ckheads, you'll never get through!!! :P
I have developed a real "Call Screen" system.. If you're connected to Telemarketing, Surveys, Research, Scammers and etc, I will never know you called, since your number is automatcally blocked.. Oh and if you think you are smart by not having your Caller ID active, think again, NO Caller ID = your call IS dropped...
Suck it up, I win.

Pleas for us to accept calls from survey takers are reasonable if they were all genuine. Unfortunately I received 27 "Anonymous" calls on Saturday 4 June, and today, Monday 6th June, I have received 12 so far. It's all too much and I object to my home phone being hijacked by organisations who are either scammers hiding behind anonymity or researchers claiming to be "legitimate". My solution? It's a good one... My answering machine intercepts all calls after two rings with a message saying "We are screening our calls. Either leave a message or call us on our mobiles". Scammers never leave messages, nor do most researchers. If you don't like this, tough.

My landline is for me to ring out on - it's muted from incoming calls! knock yourself out calling me. I have a mobile which is turned off when I don't want to be disturbed. I worked 42years on shift work and got woken up many times by people calling at a so called proper time. Just a note for the dummies not ever-one works 9am-5pm. Get a real job! and stop ringing people unsolicited.

I feel a bit sorry for these people, they are just ordinary people just doing a job for a wage and they are abused multiple times a day. I don't know how they do it.

But for the record... I have put my numbers into the Do not call register and it seems to work a lot. I get the odd call. But I just don't answer any calls from numbers I don't know and its it someone who really needs to talk to me, they will leave a message. Simple and no abuse necessary.

For the ratings companies.... I just think there must be a better way to get your ratings... think about it and come up with a new standard, something simple that doesn't alienate the general population and annoy the hell out of everyone. Spare a thought tho for poor old Jo just doing their job.

Caller: Kantar, millward brown, national field services

Kantar aka Millward Brown, aka National field services. We are simply doing market research. No scams. I’m here to answer some FAQs I see in the comments for this number. I’ll answer as best as I can.

If you’re on the DNC (do not call) register, it does not apply to us. The dncr only applies to sales calls, that of which we are not doing. We’re not selling anything. We’re not trying to interest you in anything either. So even if you say “not interested” we will probably try another time.

If you do the survey, we will not contact you again. Simple as that!. We do various research on behalf of many companies. All Imporant for various reasons. Once your answers have been collected, you are forever removed from our list! And will not be contacted again.

We have a strict privacy policy, everything is confidential. If you wish to remain anonymous that is also completely ok!!! Just say so. :) you do not have to tell us your name.

The reason we call so many times?
Depending on the type of research or study, there’s a period of time where we have set numbers to call. We’re just trying to make contact and see if you’re free to help out with the research. That’s all. If you say you’re busy. We will call again at a better time. The numbers we call are out of our control, they magically pop up on our screen. They are called a certain number of times before we remove the number anyway.

How did we get your number In the first place?
Well that depends also on the type of research. If it’s for council related research then it’s from Samplepages.com.au and you can easily remove your number from there. We do not know how your number got there, but it’s free to remove.
If it’s Nielsen television, then it’s a process called random digit dial. We’re the numbers are randomly generated.
So you’re not on any “list”.
We will not call you again if you just do the survey. We know nothing about you or who we’re calling. We would just really appreciate your help and understanding.

Most of the surveys are short, simple and easy. We have nothing to hide and are ofcourse open to your questions!
Kantar is also part of the Australian Market Research Society, genuinely trying to do research. Feel free to check more about us > https://researchsociety.com.au/research-company-directory/search/?command=viewEntityContact&entityType=1&entitySerial=3787&membershipSerial=13306

We may ask a postcode, why?
We want to speak to as many different households as possible. There is a quota to fill. And we need to make sure we’re also not speaking to too many people from the same area, as the Data representation would be Inaccurate.

None of the questions we ask are trying to be personal, even though it may seem so. It’s just to make sure we speak to a Variety of types of households. As you can imagine there are many types , and each need to be represented for the tv ratings panel. Or whatever other research there is happening at the time. So DO NOT take any of our questions personally. It is confidential after all and only for the research.

So at the end of the day, if you don’t wish to help out and take part, that totally fine. But please understand we’re just trying to do our job and we don’t know which numbers are about to pop up on the screen. Just politely decline if you truly can’t help out.

Thanku for taking the time to read this.
All opinions are my own. I

To the individual who commented that "all Australians are morons and how can they even have mobile phones?" should have done their research before blurting out their ignorant, racist, obnoxious, and patronising comments. For one, it was Australian scientists who invented mobile data technology (including wifi). So the very technology you rely on to post your insolent and offensive comments is Australian! Such a clever person aren't you!?

This is the person from Nielsen Television. I asked her what is this about and she said it is survey and I don’t have to do it if I’m not interested in. So I said “ Ok, I’m not interested in doing this.” Then she said “ Oh but this is not survey and it will help us update TV rating”
I was like “…😅 This is not obligation isn’t it? Or this is obligation. I can say No right? ” She could not say it’s not obligation and start “ this is to update Australian TV rating etc.”
And she hung up!
Block this number.

The problem Andrew is your number comes up as "Potential Scam Call". People are sick and tired of these computer generated calls that hang up just as you get to phone. It is very annoying and downright rude!

Caller: now know from comment above.

However once again from the comment made be some moron above about tearing skin off etc, others swearing and using vulgar language to impress, plus the idiot shift worker that leaves his/her phone turned up. These people obviously live on the bottom of the cage, Just block the number or if real smart ask the caller politely to take your number off their system. Most are happy to do that because it saves them time.
